In the heart of the Maasai Mara, the Lazizi Welfare Foundation has launched a camera trap initiative at the Ritz-Carlton Maasai Mara to quietly observe wildlife in their natural habitat. Motion-activated cameras capture moments that reveal the movements, behaviors, and diversity of animals—without disturbing them.

Each image tells a story: predators prowling at night, grazers crossing the savannah, and the subtle rhythms of a thriving ecosystem. Beyond the snapshots, the data collected helps researchers understand species patterns, monitor biodiversity, and guide conservation efforts.

By combining technology with environmental stewardship, this project strengthens habitat protection, supports evidence-based conservation, and inspires a deeper appreciation for the rich wildlife that surrounds the lodge. Through every captured frame, we are not just observing nature—we are learning how to protect it for generations to come.
